David de Gea was active on social media after his former club Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday evening.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who recently met with officials to discuss the project and vision of Spanish second division club Eldense, is still a free agent after failing to agree terms on a new contract at Old Trafford.
He has since been linked with a host of clubs, including Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
In fact, he was recently touted to make an unexpected return to Manchester United on a short-term deal as Andre Onana looks set to join up with the Cameroon squad for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
But the Spaniard is still on the lookout for a new club as his former side continue to blow hot and cold.
United, who had previously been on an impressive run of form in the league, struggled in large spells on a freezing Saturday night at St James’ Park.
A second-half strike from Anthony Gordon sealed all three points for Eddie Howe’s side, who outclassed and outworked their Premier League opponents from minute one.
And after the full-time whistle, David de Gea took to social media platform X to post another one of his ‘cryptic’ emoji messages.
One fan commented on the post, saying: “For a supposed ‘club legend’, he really does act like a child,” while another said: “Rattled yanited fans with one emoji again. Keep cooking.”
A third wrote: “Clearly talking about the weather. So many insecure people on this app,” and a fourth added: “Triggered an entire fanbase with one emoji describing the weather.”
