Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi set to renew their rivalry at Dubai Globe Soccer Awards… with the Al Nassr forward leading the way after 27 MILLION votes – and Jude Bellingham and Mary Earps also nominated

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will go head-to-head once again in the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards in January.

Over 27million fans voted to set up the shortlists for the event, with two of the greatest player of all time set to re-kindle their rivalry that has lasted well over a decade.

There are 20 award categories for the event, with the ceremony to be held at the five-star Atlantis, The Palm, on January 19.

Erling Haaland has also made the shortlist after winning the best forward player at the Ballon d’Or awards earlier this year, while Jude Bellingham is nominated for a record four awards.

Other categories include Power Horse Emerging player, Best Middle East Player, Best Coach and Best Women’s Player and Club.

The Dubai Globe Soccer Awards were established in 2010, and have since grown from three awards to 20, with categories now recognising football’s Best Youth Team, Transfer Deal, and Emerging Player.

Last year’s awards saw 33 million fans vote for winners, with Karim Benzema and Alexia Putellas picking up the coveted Best Men’s and Best Women’s player awards respectively.
