VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo Junior scores as Al-Nassr U-13s win league title with three weeks to spare – and dad celebrates achievement with special Instagram message

The eldest son of Ronaldo was among the scorers as Al-Nassr beat Ohod 4-1 to win the Under-13 Premier League title with three games to spare on Friday. Wearing the No.7 jersey like his father, Cristiano Jr powered home a shot from inside the area, with Nawaf Naji, Saif Ahmed, and Nasser Alsaqabi also getting on the scoresheet. After the match, the Saudi side posted highlights of the win and Portuguese international Ronaldo took to social media to congratulate the team.

After Al-Nassr put together a graphic with all of the under-13 side’s players, along with the coaching staff, Ronaldo posted in an Instagram story: “Congratulations champions,” followed by an applause emoji and a muscle emoji.

Ever since the Saudi Pro League started drawing in some of the biggest names in football last year, the league has tried to grow its profile and Ronaldo has certainly helped with that. The Ronaldo name is such a big draw, even his young son, who previously played for youth teams at Juventus, Real Madrid, and Manchester United before joining Al-Nassr, has a big following on social media and posts like this may help grow the game in Saudi Arabia further still.
