Al-Hilal plot summer move for Bruno Fernandes after Man Utd star rejected huge offer in January transfer window

Portuguese outlet Record reported that the Red Devils captain received an astronomical offer from the Saudi Pro League but the Portuguese midfielder “responded negatively” to the offer. Having joined Manchester United for an estimated £68 million ($85.9m) in January 2020, the Portuguese playmaker feels he still has more to accomplish at the club. Despite Fernandes’ refutation of Al-Hilal, their interest has not diminished, and they intend to make another approach in the summer.

Over the past 12 months, Al-Hilal has already signed several well-known football players from European teams. Their team includes Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Neymar, and Aleksandar Mitrovic. They now lead the Saudi first flight by seven points above second-placed Al-Nassr thanks to their investments over the summer.

Fernandes has made 215 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 71 goals and providing 60 assists. But, Man United’s victory in the Carabao Cup last season remains his sole trophy in four years at the club. Nine points outside the top four in the Premier League, Ten Hag’s side now sit in eighth.
