Revealed: Why Marcus Rashford has bizarrely been forgiven by Man Utd despite nightclub breach as angry fans slam Erik ten Hag for Jadon Sancho ‘double standards’

Manchester United were quick to issue a statement saying Rashford’s disciplinary issue “is now closed” after the forward missed training following a nightclubbing trip to Belfast. The Red Devils have seemingly already forgiven Rashford after crunch talks as he has shown “contrition” and recognised he made a “major error of judgement,” according to the Athletic. Ten Hag also feels he has a “positive relationship” with Rashford, who has starred for the club since his appointment as manager, particularly last season when he netted 30 goals.

United’s quick decision to accept Rashford back into the fold, despite reportedly indulging in a 12-hour tequila bender, has left some fans angry and accusing the club of double standards. Jadon Sancho was dropped by Ten Hag for failing to meet the required standard in training and subsequently exiled for calling out Ten Hag on social media and refusing to apologise. The winger has since been sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund and looks unlikely to ever play for United again.

All eyes will be on Ten Hag’s teamsheet on Thursday when the Red Devils return to Premier League action at Molineux against Wolves. Rashford is back in training and available for the match, but it will be interesting to see how Ten Hag uses the England international and also the reception he receives from the United fans.
