Andre Onana was seen flinging his gloves to the ground in frustration after the final whistle of Manchester United’s 3-3 draw against Galatasaray following his errors which leave their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.
The night had got off to a perfect start in the hostile Istanbul surroundings as Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes fired Erik ten Hag’s side into an early 2-0 lead.
But the Cameroonian was at fault for the home side’s reply before the break when he failed to react to Hakim Ziyech’s free-kick.
United restored their advantage thanks to Scott McTominay’s 55th-minute strike, however, Onana would once again be punished by Ziyech’s left-footed delivery, this time completely fluffing a tame shot from the Moroccan only minutes later.
Galatasaray found their equaliser shortly after when Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu lashed in from a tight angle.
Onana – who has now been responsible for more errors leading to goals in the competition by any goalkeeper since the 2018-29 season – showed his dejection after the referee closed proceedings.
The 27-year-old could be seen throwing his gloves to the floor before pulling at his jersey as he collected this things from behind the goal.
